Art as a therapy
Development & Perspectives
In October 2024 we had the honour to welcome in Sofia our guest Maria d'Elia, the President of the European Federation of Art Therapy (EFAT). At the invitation of the Association of Bulgarian Art Therapists (ABAT) she presented the work of EFAT to an audience of Art Therapy students and other interested people. The rich program, consisting of various lectures and workshops, took place at the National Academy of Art in Sofia. Its terrace offered visitors a magnificent panorama of the surrounding buildings - the imposing cathedral "Alexander Nevsky", the University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and the National Library "St. Sv. Cyril and Methodius" - as well as the impressive landscape of Vitosha, at the foot of which the Bulgarian capital is located. We are extremely happy that our association is part of the European art therapy family and we are looking forward to a successful cooperation with EFAT.
